Abstract

The Philosophical thinking has developed from an early age. This philosophical thinking can be found in the mindset of child. In the history of the development of Islam, the methodological philosophical thinking has emerged in Islamic thought in the form of Ushul Fiqh. Ushul Fiqh not only offers a philosophical and methodological touch in Islamic thinking, but Ushul Fiqh has also put forward the terminology of science and truth. This research is qualitative research in the form of a research library in the philosophy of science. The type of research on the philosophy of science will examine the science and truth of Zakariyya al-Ashori's perspective. This research resulted the conclusion that knowledge and truth in the manhaj ushuliy occupy the highest strata, namely absolute knowledge (al-hukm al-jazim). This is what is called absolute truth, namely truth that cannot be changed, which is called 'ilm. The term 'ilm is different from the concept of science within the framework of modern science. Islam offers that ‘ilm in Islam can lead to absolute truth. The position below ílm is knowledge in the form of beliefs (myths) and knowledge that can change (al- hukm ghoir al-jazim), in the form of zhann, syakk, Wahm, or even in the terminology of jahl basith or jahl murokkab.
